Graz is a charming little city 200 km south of Vienna. In January, Stephan and I went there by train and stayed for one night.
Do you recognize that there's so much more light outside? The sky is intense blue today. I love it.

@Lotte, Same Length Pinkies, Snows, Ritva, Sara, Provins: I'm glad you enjoyed my latest posts, thank you!
@Sandra: Ja, det är verkligen kul - jag skulle träna min svenska lite oftare...
@Christine: I hope you found an answer. Anyway, you should try them. Punschkrapfen are made of biscuit filled with crumbled biscuit, chocolate, apricot jam and rum. The pink icing is made of rum and sugar. I love these.
@Ulrika: Tack! Ja, det var en jättekall dag. Vi var så glada att det var varmare i mormors hus!
@Jenna: I should practice my swedish, too, but it's not so easy when nobody around you can speak the language :)

2011
It's middle of February, but now I'm posting some photos from New Year's Day. I'm a bit slow this year, sorry. Stephan's sister Maria made these amazing Punschkrapfen. Even the marzipan decorations were hand-made.

@Cez, Maria, Design Elements: Thank you!
@Maggie: That's exactly what I'm feeling when I'm there!
@Jenna: Yes, and I'm happy you still visit this place :)
@Li + Belle: You're right, the landscape of Bavaria is quite similar.

Good morning! This is my 300th post and I'm really amazed. My blog has more visitors than I ever expected and it's inspiring to read comments from all over the world. I would love to know who you are, dear reader.
The photos above show Austria's most beautiful landscape, this is where Stephan's grandmother lives. The Waldviertel reminds me of Sweden, not only because it was freezing cold when we went there in late December.

I reply
@Sara, Mia, Nicole, Melski & Li+Belle: Thank you! I have no experience in b/w-photographing, that's why your comments make me twice happy.

last christmas
Christmas time was wonderful and I'm somehow looking forward to December again. We had much family around us which wasn't always easy. Schnurrli was too smart to go outside, she slept most of the time. Oh, and did I already admit that I love my mum's christmas cookies?
So many of you blog about Valentine's day - have a good day. And best wishes for the week ahead.

advent random
A few photos taken in December 2010.
My one-week-holidays went by too quickly and the new term already starts on Tuesday. Yesterday, I came home from a short trip to Leipzig. My brother has been living there for a few months now. The city is quite big and I found some very nice areas, good cafés and restaurants. Back in Vienna, it's snowing beautifully outside. Winter hasn't gone yet.

@ Maggie, Li + Belle, Megan & Sunkentreasure: Thank you so much for your kind words!
@ Nina: Für Kaffee und Kuchen war ich noch nicht in der Villa Aurora - das wird aber bald nachgeholt.

autumn random
Well, I got used to this winter. But I like these early spring signs outside - it's sunny and 15°C!
Don't you think, it's nice to look at these old autumn pictures from last year, too?
Have a good Monday.

I reply
@ Same Length Pinkies: I think I feel the same. I think it's kind of eerie but interesting, too.

Sometimes, I like to visit cemeteries. The Zentralfriedhof in Vienna is huge, I could spend days there just walking around, searching for beautiful names. The photos were taken last November.

Last autumn was beautiful. I took these pictures in October. On a Sunday, we went on a walk through the woods and had fantastic lunch at a beautiful small restaurant. I'm sure I'll come back there in spring!
